The sunken level is encircled by a wavy banquette, and furnished with
additional soft armchairs gathered around a series of small custom
tables. Shades of green are layered across the carpet, and the leather
and patterned crushed-velvet chair upholstery, echoing those found in
the richly veined stone tabletops. This evocatively named Kaleidoscope
Onyx is paired with lustrous brass bases, which gently taper to lend
the tables an arresting silhouette.
Niches surrounding the
main lounge are reserved for VIPs, where champagne can be popped and
sipped in privacy. Dark wood-veneer panels wrap several of these
ancillary spaces, while a special area is lined with faceted, smokey
mirrored panels that create infinite reflections around its
organically shaped walls. Custom features include a banquette that
wraps around a large table, which is fitted with a giant ice bucket
for chilling drinks.
Crucial for setting the mood, indirect
lighting is installed under the seats and in ceiling coves, while
globe-shaped sconces attached to vertical brass rods provide focal
details. Bathed in such flattering lighting, this magnetic space is
perfectly tailored for both casual pre-dinner cocktails and lavish
